Christopher Farstad’s Galaxy Express 555 moniker explores a synthesizer-driven musical futurism with a surrealistic collection of new work now available (CD/Digital) on the Belgian/Chilean imprint Nonlocal Research. His unique brand of sound collage conjures up a combination of new age and noise music, with an entrancing and transcendent performance style anchored in an exciting alchemy of composition and improvisation. Since his first release in 2013, he has been driven to push vintage and modern technologies to their respective limits through relentless experimentation with a sound described as like “a Rorschach pool of soothing vibrations, windy melodies and synthetic conflagrations which hover like shards of crystal exploded in bullet-time.”
