We're glad to present the fifth solo release by Alejandro Palacios,
a musician, visual artist and publisher from Chile. He is known for his participation in numerous bands from Santiago and as a multitalented collaborator for a wide range of musical and artistic projects.
Equis I Griega Zeta is the second part of a trilogy that started with
Atifambersapel and continues to speak the same mysterious and unique language, both in his untraceable lyrics as in his whimsical arrangements.

Alejandro Palacios intertwines basement ethno-pop with dubby lounge folk at ease, creating an engaging circuit of influences and poised compositions. We can hear traces of Arthur Russell’s soothing diction, Gainsbourg-esque crooner vestiges and spaghetti western guitar licks. The trumpet playing stands out in the musician’s distinctive jazz-oriented manner, whose brightness and dazzling reach can be heard in his mobile ringtones album Black Ring Tunes (Infinito Audio, 2017). Weaving the album in an elegant noirish fashion, Palacios achieves to captivate us in a striking, yet playful way.
At times dark and peculiar, his rendition can also be vibrant and compelling, even laid-back and humorous to the extreme of hitting
a cat meow button countless times.

Equis I Griega Zeta is a delightful constellation of songs that appeal both to the mind and body, enjoyable at tea hours and the dancefloor alike. We’re left fulfilled and looking forward to the following release of this fantastic trilogy, wondering how such a balmy and curious journey will wind up.
